How long is an appointment?

The initial assessment lasts 50-60 minutes, but each subsequent session will be 50 minutes. The other 10 minutes is designated for typing notes and providing the necessary resources for you.

What is the therapy portal?

Royal Counseling Center uses the TherapyPortal to provide necessary documentation within TherapyNotes, a HIPAA compliant software. Clients can communicate and receive resources through this portal. It requires you to create an online account, and has everything you need in one place including the ability to schedule appointments at your convenience. Your personal information will never been shared.

How often should I come to counseling?

This answer all depends on you and your situation, however, we would suggest to come once a week in the beginning to build a healthy rapport with your counselor, and then depending on your situation, reassessing how often your sessions should be.

Do you offer Telehealth therapy?

Yes! All of our therapists offer virtual sessions through our HIPAA compliant software, TherapyPortal. In order to access this, you must log on to your TherapyPortal account at the time of your session where you will see a “Start Telehealth” button.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, all of our therapists take insurance. You can visit each therapist’s individual page or see an overview of their insurance and services offered here.

What are your specialities?

Our therapists have a variety of specialties across the board including: marriage/couples, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem counseling, and ADHD.
